Grand Opening During a Pandemic

In March 2020 much of the world shut down thanks to Coronavirus, aka COVID 19. The construction crew responsible for the Perkinson Center being finished on time persisted on while the board, the community, and Perkinson staff were hopeful to open the doors to the public upon completion.
On November 13, 2020, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam released new mandates for public gatherings not to exceed 25 people.
With heavy hearts, spirits remain high as the CCAF board's development committee and Perkinson Center staff prepare for their Grand Opening-- how we all have come to experience things this year-- virtually.
The lineup will include a virtual tour, donor and staff interviews, stage performances in the Jimmy Dean Theater, and previews of the first Baxter & Elaine Perkinson Gallery show called "Home".
